The Saint Helena Plot is a story of mystery, adventure, and the hidden forces that shape history. Lieutenant Jack Barry is sailing on an American warship, the frigate USS Pelican, in the year 1818.

The crew has been told that their mission is to map coastlines and measure the depth of coastal waters. But none aboard knows where they are really going or why. Even the captain does not appear to know. As the Pelican heads south toward warmer waters, Barry begins to suspect that something much bigger than taking depth soundings is in prospect.

Meanwhile, in present-day Manhattan, billionaire Carlo Ramolino surveys his empire from the height of a luxury penthouse. Obsessed with Napoleon and conquest, Ramolino's mind is fixed not on parks or views, but on power plays, financial storms and historical revenge. As the Pelican sails southward, the layers of mystery surrounding its voyage are lifted to reveal an unfolding mission that seems all but impossible.
