Carolyn Morwick is a Massachusetts native and a former elementary school teacher. Her interest in children’s literature began when she was a young mother and classroom teacher. She started writing children’s stories when her own children were very young. She was inspired by famous children’s authors including Tasha Tudor, Virginia Lee Burton, Lois Lenski. When her children began school, she returned briefly to the classroom and then worked as a legislative aide to a state senator. Eventually, she became employed at the New England Board of Higher Education first as Director of the New England Regional Student Program and later as Coordinator of Government and Community affairs. For six years, she served on the Board of Selectmen for the Town of Bridgewater, the first woman to serve in that position in the Town’s long history. She currently resides in Bridgewater, Massachusetts where she continues to write children’s stories. The main characters in this book are based on the two cats that were cherished members of the Morwick family.
